NICHE Solar – Photovoltaic (PV) Systems
What is a solar Photovoltaic (PV) system?
It is a system composed of one or more solar panels combined with an inverter and other electrical and mechanical hardware that use energy from the Sun to generate electricity.
These 2 main components of the PV system are:
Solar Panels
These panels are made up of Photovoltaic cells and energy(DC) is produced directly from them when sunshine hits these PV cells.
Solar Inverter
The inverter in turn converts the DC energy generated by the PV cells in the Solar Panels into AC energy(electricity)and then supplies this usable electricity(power) into your property via your main distribution board and power meter for your usage to run appliances.
Other Components
Power Meter
A Bi-directional meter Digital Energy Meter is required before your PV system can go live. If you don’t already have one, NICHE Solar will facilitate this through an application to and seek approval from your electrical utility company.
Battery Storage
Battery Storage is optional and can also be added at a later stage. It enables excess energy(in low demand times) generated by your NICHE Solar PV System, to be stored and then released for use as and when the power is needed most(in peak demand times, on cloudy days or at night).
